Resurgence of Life, 2003

My paintings begin with a rush of energy allowing texture, form and emotion to lead the way. In this series, Resurgence of Life, energy is high and all the senses seem to be heightened

The major statement might happen in the first few hours, but before the painting is finished many layers of change and refining will happen. This momentum carries me through the painting process. I choose my path, but then the path takes over and chooses its own direction. The path of this body of work has been a Resurgence of Life.

I never plan or choose my titles until the paintings are finished. These are my feelings and reactions. I welcome and hope the viewer will experience their own interpretations.
